Job summary

Glanbia is seeking a Senior Project Engineer in Michigan to drive capital projects from ideation to implementation. You will oversee site CAPEX, provide engineering leadership to manufacturing operations, and ensure safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives are met.

You will lead cross-functional teams, manage contractors, and develop detailed piping and utility layouts while ensuring compliance with USDA and PMO standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 8+ years of experience.
• Understanding and complying with EPA, DEQ, OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
• Basic knowledge of software tools for project management and engineering drawing (MS Project, Excel, AutoCAD).

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive capital projects from ideation through implementation across the full lifecycle.
• Direct development of resource plans including labor, materials and time requirements.
• Troubleshoot technical issues with cross-functional teams to reduce downtime and costs.
• Apply engineering principles to improvements across plant areas including civil, mechanical, electrical and process.
• Manage third-party contractors through all project phases and ensure alignment with specs.
• Layout piping, equipment and utilities; develop energy and mass balances for plant needs.
• Provide troubleshooting support for process equipment to improve operations.
• Ensure compliance with USDA, Grade A and PMO requirements in projects.
• Coordinate installation activities to match design and specifications.
• Maintain project documentation using Vault and support installation/commissioning.

Job Summary - Senior Project Engineer

The Sr Project Engineer will drive the successful delivery of business-critical capital projects across the full project lifecycle, from ideation through implementation. This role oversees site CAPEX planning and spend, provides engineering leadership to manufacturing operations, and ensures projects meet safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives.

Responsibilities include:

• Conduct and manage voice of the customer reviews, technical design reviews, project progress reviews to ensure projects are developed and delivered successfully.
• Directs development of an action plan and requirements for resource management, labor, materials, and time required to complete project.
• Troubleshoot technical problems and identify solutions with cross functional teams which reduce downtime and conserve costs.
• Apply general engineering and technical principles to troubleshoot and implement improvements in various plant or project areas including civil, mechanical, electrical, process, utility, packaging etc.
• Manage third party contractors throughout all project phases.
• Determine the layout of piping, equipment, and utilities for project engineering changes. Develop energy and mass balances to determine plant requirements.
• Responsible for trouble shooting support for processes equipment to enhance operations.
• Ensure projects delivered meet all applicable standards i.e. USDA compliancy, Grade A and/or PMO requirements
• Directs and coordinates installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and specifications.
• Maintain equipment, project, and construction documents and plans utilizing Vault.
• Manage project installation and commissioning
• Develop accurate and efficient Process and Instrument Drawings for projects through the use of customer specifications, general process descriptions, company standards and verbal instructions.
• Check drawings for drafting and engineering errors to produce a complete system design for presentation to customers.
• Utilizes GPS processes, driving zero losses and upholds the culture of Glanbia non-negotiables.
• Support with developing capital budget for the site, 1-to-5-year plans to outline investment needs that support and growth the business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 8 years or more of experience.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
