Job summary

Skanska is hiring a Senior Project Engineer to drive project planning, budgeting, and scheduling with a focus on safety and compliance. The role sits within the Project Management Team and supports diverse, mission-critical facilities including cleanrooms and semiconductor environments.

The position requires experience with RFIs, subcontracting, and close-out activities, and a bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering (or 8 years of relevant experience).

Qualifications

  • 3+ years creating documentation such as RFIs and client correspondence.
  • 3+ years reading construction plans and specifications for submittals.
  • 2+ years preparing subcontract scopes and contracts.
  • 2+ years project close out experience.
  • 2+ years supporting semiconductor/cleanroom/mission-critical facility construction.
  • 1+ years working with cost control systems.

The Senior Project Engineer works within the Project Management Team which is responsible for planning and overseeing the project to ensure a timely and cost-effective outcome. This includes budgeting, organization, implementation, and scheduling of the project. Ensure the project is constructed in a safe, ethical manner and in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws. The Project Management Team can vary greatly depending on the size and complexity of the projects, which in turn will affect the number of responsibilities the Senior Project Engineer will be involved in.

Candidates with experience working in cleanroom environments and supporting complex manufacturing, process, and mission-critical facility projects will be highly regarded.

Senior Project Engineer Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ Years of experience creating documentation such as RFIs, and client correspondence on issues related to the notification provisions in contracts.
  • 3+ years of reading and understanding construction plans and drawings and the technical specifications associated with drawings. Able to outline specifications required for submission to clients and ensure submittals and shop drawings are approved.
  • 2+ years preparing subcontract scopes and contracts.
  • 2+ years expereince with project close out.
  • 2+ years experience supporting semiconductor, advanced technology, microchip manufacturing, cleanroom, and/or other mission‑critical facility construction projects.
  • 1+ years working with cost control systems.
  • Bachelor’s Degree – Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or similar or 8 years equivalent experience plus minimum 3 years prior relevant experience.
