Job summary

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering required; Master's preferred.
• 8-10+ years of engineering experience in high-level R&D or product development.
• Defense industry, defense contractor, military, or government lab background required.
• Experience with energetic materials including explosives, propellants, or pyrotechnics.
• Demonstrated technical project/program leadership experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with instrumentation, data acquisition, and complex testing/experiments.
• Familiarity with machining, fabrication, and prototype development.
• Ability to obtain an ATFE possessor license and security clearance.

Responsibilities

Senior Project Engineer – Defense / Energetic Materials

Full-Time | Minimal Texas Travel

Our client, a small engineering and technology company specializing in the development and testing of explosives, reactive materials, and ballistic systems, is seeking a Senior Project Engineer.

This is a hands-on technical project leadership role responsible for leading research and development projects through prototype development, testing, and technology transition while managing schedules, budgets, and technical execution.

Required Qualifications

• BS in Engineering required; Master's preferred.
• 8-10+ years of engineering experience involving high-level research, technology transition, or product development.
• Defense industry, defense contractor, military, or government laboratory background required.
• Experience with energetic materials, including explosives, propellants, or pyrotechnics.
• Demonstrated technical project/program leadership experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with instrumentation, data acquisition, and complex testing/experiments.
• Familiarity with machining, fabrication, and prototype development.

Knowledge of ballistics, munitions, and SolidWorks is preferred.
