Job summary

Ryan Companies US, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Engineer in Phoenix to join our design-build team. You will read plans, manage RFIs, maintain shop drawings, and coordinate deliveries with vendors and subs.

The role supports scheduling, procurement, and cost control, contributing to project budgets and punch lists while gaining exposure to field logistics and permit processes.

Qualifications

  • 4-year college degree in construction-related field.
  • Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost-coding systems.
  • Willingness to travel/relocate as needed for projects.

Responsibilities

  • Help generate RFIs and track approvals.
  • Monitor and maintain shop drawing log and coordination.
  • Assist in project scheduling and weekly construction meetings.
  • Coordinate vendor and subcontractor deliveries.
  • Support procurement through subcontractor bids and cost estimates.
  • Assist with project close-out, punch lists and accuracy of field measurements.

If this describes you, we encourage you to apply today.**To be successful in this role,** you must have at least 2-4 years of successful commercial construction experience in a design-build environment. A bachelor’s degree in construction engineering/management is required. You must be able to read and understand engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost coding systems. Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing is required. It's expected that you are familiar and comfortable with current technology.**Some things you can expect to do:*** Help generate Requests For Information (RFIs) and track approvals.* Monitor and maintain shop drawing log and shop drawing coordination.* Learn project dimensional control requirements while field verifying dimensions to back check the shop drawing approval process.* Assist in the coordination and tracking of Vendor and Subcontractor deliveries.* Learn Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures.* Gain an understanding for overall site logistics.* Participate in and gain an understanding of the city and jurisdictional permit inspection process.* Keep office and jobsite plans updated with RFIs and ASIs.* Accompany Ryan personnel (and Owner) on Punchlist inspections, record Punchlist items and monitor completion of Punchlist work.* Perform additional assignments per Superintendent’s/Project Manager’s direction.* Participate in preparing and updating the project schedule.* Prepare agendas and minutes for the weekly construction meetings and take an active role in these meetings.* Assist Project Manager with project procurement through development of subcontractor RFP bid forms and bid form evaluation spreadsheets.
