Responsibilities

• Creates project management documentation (schedules, cost tracking, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes).
• Coordinates with owners, vendors, crews, subcontractors, architects to ensure timely project completion.
• Conducts site inspections for quantity, quality, and safety compliance.
• Develops operations and maintenance manuals and as-builts as required.
• Possesses initiative and accepts additional duties as needed.

Nature of Work

Supports and assists the project team (including Project Manager, Superintendent, QC Managers, and more) in assuring timely project completion while serving as informal mentor to others within Project Engineering role.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Creates project management documentation that may include schedules, material purchases, cost management, progress charts, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, jobsite controls, tracking reports, etc.
• Coordinates and communicates with owners, vendors, crews, subcontractors, architects, and suppliers to facilitate timely project completion.
• As required, conducts workplace inspections assessing quantity and specification/quality, percent completion by subcontractors, and safety compliance.
• Develops operations and maintenance manuals and as builts, as required
• Exercises initiative or, as directed, performs additional duties to meet the needs of the organization.

In addition to the above, this position will have responsibility for the following:

• May have informal supervisory responsibilities through the training, coaching, or mentoring of other Project Engineers.

Qualifications

• Ability to collaborate with and function well within a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to learn new computer programs for project management / estimating / reporting purposes.

Education

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college/university or equivalent experience.

Experience

• 1+ years or more of related work experience preferred.
• Responsible for own work only; will have no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands and Working Environment

• Physical demands for this position are moderate. Typically the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be walking, standing, bending or carrying of items (25-50 pounds) such as plan documents, papers, books, parts, etc. There may be times of physical exertion, such as long periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven or rocky surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, climbing or similar activities. The work may require specific but common physical characteristics and abilities such as above-average agility and dexterity. Requires a good ability to see, hear, and speak.
• Standard project site environment may include machinery, parts and chemicals; may require protective gear.
