Job summary

PMCS Group is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to drive document control, change management and closeout on CSULB's University Student Union Renovation and Expansion. The role requires on-site work in the Los Angeles, CA area and involves coordinating preconstruction through closeout across a $235M program.

Responsibilities include maintaining organized document files, managing stakeholder comments, reviewing change orders, and preparing CSU audits.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in construction as a project engineer or similar on major capital projects.
• Able to read and understand plans.
• Proficient with Bluebeam.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude.
• Able to work on-site, in person.
• Preferred: Design-Build experience.
• Preferred: general contractor experience on large projects ($50M+).

Responsibilities

• Give design, technical and administrative support through preconstruction, construction and closeout.
• Own project document control: circulate, receive, track and maintain files for plans, minutes, RFIs, submittals, change orders, ASIs and schedules.
• Maintain organized document files through all design development and permitting phases.
• Manage stakeholder review comments and track issues to resolution.
• Support change order management: review requests for merit and fair pricing and prepare change orders.
• Manage the closeout and turnover process.
• Prepare project files for CSU system audit at project completion.
• Verify site conditions and provide field support as needed.
• Schedule meetings, take notes and drive follow-up.

PMCS Group is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to drive document control, change management and closeout on CSULB's $235M University Student Union Renovation and Expansion.

Project Overview

• Project: University Student Union Renovation and Expansion
• Direct construction budget: $235M
• Delivery method: Collaborative Design-Build
• Timeframe: July 2024 – June 2028
• Renovation: 180,000 GSF existing USU: 160,000 SF indoor + 20,000 SF outdoor covered walkways and seating
• Addition: 50,000 GSF
• Program: Food service, wellness center, cultural resource centers, career center, office and administration, social and lounge spaces, recreation and entertainment space, event and meeting spaces, accessibility upgrades, general improvements and site work

Job Duties

• Give design, technical and administrative support through the preconstruction, construction and closeout phases.
• Own project document control. Circulate, receive, track and maintain organized files for plans, meeting minutes, RFIs, submittals, change orders, ASIs and schedules.
• Maintain organized document files through every phase of design development and permitting.
• Manage stakeholder review comments. Circulate design documents, then collect, compile, vet and track comments so every issue is addressed.
• Support change order management. Independently review change order requests for merit and fair pricing, and prepare change orders for processing.
• Manage the closeout and turnover process.
