Qualifications

• Experience designing or modifying power supply, battery, or energy storage products.
• Comfortable across the full product lifecycle from design to production support.
• Spanish speaking would be preferred.
• Familiarity with aviation ground support equipment or locomotive power systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Modify and improve existing power supply and energy storage designs for aviation, locomotive, and industrial applications.
• Design new products within these families to meet evolving customer needs.
• Work hands-on with production and manufacturing teams for build, assembly, and troubleshooting.
• Bridge gap between design and shop-floor production in a small-company environment.
• Collaborate on specifications, testing, and validation of new/modified designs.
• Support quality and reliability efforts for demanding aviation and rail environments.

Job description

Our client designs and manufactures power supply and energy storage equipment used across the aviation, locomotive, and industrial sectors including industrial battery power/jumper units and power storage units used to start and support aircraft, locomotives, and other heavy equipment. As a small but globally reaching manufacturer, they\'re looking for a Senior Project Engineer to take ownership of both the engineering and hands-on production side of the business.

This role is a strong fit for someone who wants real ownership over the products they design - from concept through the production floor at a company where engineering decisions have a direct and visible impact.

What You\'ll Do

• Modify and improve existing designs for power supply and energy storage products, including industrial battery/jumper units and power storage systems for aviation and locomotive applications
• Design new products within these same product families to meet evolving customer and market needs
• Work hands-on with production and manufacturing teams to support build, assembly, and troubleshooting of these products
• Bridge the gap between engineering design and shop-floor production in a small-company environment where engineers stay close to the product
• Collaborate on specifications, testing, and validation of new and modified designs
• Support quality and reliability efforts for products used in demanding aviation and rail environments
• Work directly with company leadership given the size of the organization and the hands-on nature of the role

What We\'re Looking For

• Engineering background with experience designing and/or modifying power supply, battery, or energy storage products
• Comfortable working across the full product lifecycle - design, prototyping, and production support - in a small-company setting where roles aren't narrowly siloed
• Spanish Speaking would be preferred.
• Familiarity with aviation ground support equipment, locomotive power systems, or similar industrial power/battery equipment is a strong plus
• Military experience is highly valued for this role. Candidates with a background in the Navy or Air Force, particularly those with pilot experience or hands-on experience working with aviation equipment, are especially encouraged to apply
• Practical, hands-on engineering mindset - comfortable being on the production floor, not just at a desk
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a small team environment
