Job summary

Cargill is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead and support capital projects at one of our corn milling sites in Cedar Rapids. You will plan, design, estimate time and cost, and oversee construction, commissioning, and start-up activities for structures, facilities, systems, and components.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least four years of experience, with preferred background in project management, commissioning, and SAP integration across projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on engineering standards and procedures across projects.
• Escalate only the most complex issues to senior staff.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Senior Project Engineer will manage, plan, support, and where applicable, execute engineering deliverables for site capital projects at one Cargill's corn milling facilities. In this role, you will develop and apply engineering standards and procedures, providing advice on issues within the engineering field.

Key Accountabilities

• Plan, design and estimate time and cost, overseeing construction, commissioning and start-up of structures, facilities, systems and components.
• Analyze and develop solutions to engineering problems related to manufacturing equipment and systems or the causes of component failures.
• Design and improve manufacturing processes, instruments and equipment, testing manufactured products to maintain quality.
• Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Construction management, commissioning and start-up experience

• Experience managing projects or portfolio of projects $5M+
• Experience with SAP
