Day & Zimmermann seeks an experienced Project Director to serve as the senior onsite leader for a greenfield utility-scale solar EPC project, guiding it from preconstruction through final closeout with a strong focus on safety, quality, schedule, and cost.

The role requires executive leadership across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, interconnection, and project controls, plus rigorous contract management and risk mitigation to ensure a safe, profitable delivery for the

Qualifications

• 12+ years of EPC, power-generation, renewable-energy, or major infrastructure project delivery experience.
• At least five years leading multidisciplinary project teams in senior PM or project-exec roles.
• Delivery of at least one 100-MW+ greenfield solar project through commissioning and commercial operation.

Responsibilities

• Establish the project execution plan, organization, governance, decision rights, reporting cadence, and culture of accountability.
• Provide executive leadership to project management, construction, safety, quality, project controls, engineering, procurement, environmental, and commissioning personnel.
• Maintain full accountability for safety, quality, schedule, cost, cash flow, EAC, contingency, productivity, risk, and contractual performance.
• Direct engineering and constructability reviews, design coordination, RFIs, submittals, field changes, and resolution of technical issues.
• Own permitting and compliance matrix with utilities, authorities having jurisdiction, environmental agencies, landowners, and stakeholders.
• Lead procurement, expediting, logistics, receiving, storage, and vendor performance for critical equipment (modules, trackers, inverters, transformers, switchgear, substation equipment, SCADA).
• Administer EPC and major subcontracts, including notices, change orders, claims, schedule impacts, LD exposure, payment apps, and negotiations.
• Direct construction sequencing, labor and equipment planning, subcontractor performance, and schedule-recovery activities.
• Lead energization, commissioning, testing, punch lists, owner training, turnover docs, commercial operation, warranty transition, closeout.
