Job summary
Cenovus Energy seeks a Specialist, Projects Design Quality to lead engineering quality across downstream projects in the US. This role oversees project discipline engineers and external providers, driving the project engineering management system and contracting strategies to deliver safe, compliant, and cost-effective solutions.
The position requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and 12+ years in refinery or related industries, with travel up to 20% and relocation to Dublin, Toledo, Lima
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
- 12+ years of relevant experience in refinery or similar oil/petrochemical industry, including project engineering, management and/or relevant technical roles.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the Project Engineering Management System, including engineering processes, standards, and governance practices.
- Provide oversight of project discipline engineering resources and external engineering service providers to ensure effective resource utilization, performance, quality, and compliance with project requirements.
- Ensure engineering activities and deliverables comply with applicable standards, regulations, project requirements, and approvals while promoting fit-for-purpose, cost-effective solutions.
- Collaborate with Project and Technical Leaders to support engineering resource planning, performance management, and successful project execution.
- Partner with Supply Chain Management and Project Leadership to develop and improve engineering contracting strategies and service agreements.
- Conduct engineering assurance audits and oversee the resolution of engineering-related non-conformances and corrective actions.
- Monitor engineering performance metrics and provide technical guidance, risk assessments, and recommendations to support continuous improvement and project success.
