Job summary

Spike Electric, located in Pasadena, Texas, is seeking a Senior Accountant – Project & Cost Accounting to join the Accounting Department. The role supports complex project accounting, cost accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close under the Accounting Manager.

The ideal candidate has strong GAAP knowledge, project/accounting experience, and the ability to research issues, improve processes, and provide technical accounting support.

Qualifications

• Requires strong GAAP knowledge and research skills.
• Advanced Excel skills required for data analysis and reconciliations.
• Ability to research and resolve complex accounting issues.
• Experience improving processes and internal controls in a project/accounting environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare POC, WIP, project and job-cost schedules and analyses.
• Perform ETC analyses and variances related to projects.
• Support manufacturing and cost accounting activities including material costs and finished goods.
• Prepare complex balance-sheet reconciliations, journal entries and month-end close schedules.
• Research and resolve GL discrepancies and posting errors.
• Document SOPs, workflows, and reconciliation procedures.
