Transit in Albuquerque seeks a Senior Project Coordinator to manage renovations and new development efforts, including architectural/landscape services, construction management, and capital planning.
The role involves supervising staff and consultants, coordinating with divisions and external agencies, and serving as the field representative for construction activities on major initiatives in a renewal phase.
Perform a wide variety of professional project management duties for renovation and new development projects including professional and technical architectural or landscape architectural services and activities, construction management, capital project fiscal planning, project planning, design, plan check, inspection, project budgets and scheduling; supervise the work of staff and consultants responsible for performing a wide variety of multiple technical and professional projects in support of assigned projects; coordinate assigned activities with other divisions, departments and outside agencies.
The Transit Department is in an exciting phase of renewal and growth, and the Senior Project Coordinator will play a critical role in assisting with numerous upcoming projects. These include a complex joint development project with a private developer to build affordable housing alongside a major upgrade to our Uptown Transit Center, designing and building two new park & ride facilities, upgrading and relocating over forty bus shelters along Central Avenue, replacing the roof and HVAC equipment on an 80,000 sq. ft. bus maintenance facility, developing plans for rehabilitating an entire 7-acre operations and maintenance facility, and renovating an 80-year-old, Mission Revival-style historic railroad office building.

Bachelor's degree in business administration, construction management, architectural design, or landscape architecture;
Five (5) years of experience in any combination of the following areas:
To include two (2) years of supervisory experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of aCity Operator's Permit (COP) within 6 months from date of hire.
Possession of Professional Landscape Architect (PLA) licensure preferred.
Office, field and construction environment; exposure to computer screens; occasional exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, gases, inclement weather conditions and work around heavy construction equipment.
Essential and supplemental functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for walking, standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
