Job summary

KeyLogic Systems seeks a Senior Project Controls Specialist to support planning, cost management, scheduling, forecasting, and performance analysis within the Fusion Directorate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

The ideal candidate will have extensive project controls experience, advanced Primavera P6 proficiency, and a strong understanding of integrated cost and schedule management to help ensure successful execution of complex scientific and engineering initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of relevant project controls experience.
• Proficient with Oracle Primavera P6.
• Strong background in project cost management, scheduling, forecasting and performance reporting.
• Experience supporting complex engineering, construction, scientific or technical projects.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate project performance to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain integrated project schedules using Oracle Primavera P6.
• Support project budget development, cost tracking, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Establish and maintain project baselines and reporting metrics.
• Perform critical-path analysis, schedule risk assessments, and cost/schedule impact evaluations.
• Monitor project performance and provide recommendations to address deviations.
• Prepare detailed project controls reports, forecasts, dashboards and presentations.
• Support EVMS processes and performance measurement activities.
• Coordinate with managers, engineers, and leadership on progress and resource needs.
• Support change control, basel ine management and continuous improvement initiatives.

Position Summary

This position will work closely with project managers, engineers, and technical teams to support the successful execution of complex scientific and engineering initiatives.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive project controls experience, advanced Primavera P6 proficiency, and a strong understanding of integrated cost and schedule management.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain integrated project schedules using Oracle Primavera P6.
• Support project budget development, cost tracking, financial forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Establish and maintain project performance baselines and reporting metrics.
• Perform critical-path analysis, schedule risk assessments, and cost/schedule impact evaluations.
• Monitor project performance and provide recommendations to address potential deviations.
• Prepare detailed project controls reports, forecasts, dashboards, and management presentations.
• Support Earned Value Management (EVM) processes and performance measurement activities.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, and leadership to evaluate project progress and resource requirements.
• Support change control, baseline management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated hands-on proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6.
• Strong background in project cost management, scheduling, forecasting, and performance reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting DOE, ORNL, or national laboratory projects.
• Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).
• Experience supporting fusion energy, scientific research, or large-scale engineering programs.
• Familiarity with DOE project management and project controls practices.
