Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Project Controls Specialist to support services projects across multiple U.S. locations, including Sacramento. You will develop and analyze detailed schedule and cost baselines, monitor variances, and support earned value reporting.

Collaboration with project teams and management helps ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while upholding safety norms. Responsibilities include risk-informed forecasting, financial control implementation, and mentoring more junior staff

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related experience.
Strong knowledge of project management, budget, planning, control and finance concepts.
Experience with Earned Value Management and complex project schedules.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain time-phased schedules and cost baselines for moderate to high complexity projects.
Collect, analyze variances and perform root-cause analysis for schedule and cost data.
Maintain risk reserves, forecast costs, and generate standard reports for stakeholders.
Support implementation of financial controls, procedures, and forecasting techniques.
Mentor junior staff and collaborate with project teams across locations.
