Job summary

Primary Talent Partners, LLC is seeking a Principal Project Controls Cost Specialist for a 24-month contract with our power and utilities client in Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on cost engineering, cost reporting, and development of cost management systems across multiple project sites in the Carolinas, with on-site work three days per week.

You will lead complex assignments, mentor PMs, and work with stakeholders to track cost baselines, prepare forecasts, and analyze variances.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a four-year college or university in business, finance, engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of project controls experience.
• Proficiency in project controls concepts and analytics.
• Ability to lead complex assignments and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review and analyze detailed job cost reports and forecasts.
• Assess project schedule and cost estimates and qualifications.
• Review monthly status reports from client and vendors.
• Monitor compliance with departmental standards and policies.
• Lead setup and reviews of project controls status (cost, schedule, risk).
