Job summary

National Grid in Northborough, MA is hiring a Senior Cost Analyst to join the Major Capital Project Delivery team. This hybrid role supports the Major Projects PMO and focuses on developing, maintaining, and monitoring project forecasts and budgets.

You will work with project directors, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure financial integrity and timely reporting, including earned value metrics and cost performance indicators.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Project Controls or related field.
• Experience with large-scale capital projects valued.
• Ariba, SAP or Procore experience preferred.
• Experience with contracts/RFPs a plus.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Familiarity with EVM and reporting standards.
• Strong forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
• Valid driver's license per policy.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project forecasts and cash flow for major capital projects.
• Collaborate with project teams and attend status meetings to ensure accurate cost data.
• Monitor variances between forecast, budget and actual costs.
• Prepare project cost reports with earned value metrics.
• Support managers in identifying cost trends and risks.
• Ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as Project Controls liaison during contract award/execution.
• Train internal and contract staff in Cost Management.
• Timely processing of cost accruals.
