GagaMuller is supporting the delivery of major hyperscale data center developments across the United States.
As the Senior Project Controls Manager, you will lead the project controls function on behalf of the client, establishing and managing robust controls across schedule, cost, risk, change, progress, forecasting, and reporting throughout the full project lifecycle.
Working closely with Project Directors, Project Managers, Design Teams, Construction Teams, Commercial Teams, Planners, Cost Managers, Commissioning Teams, consultants, and contractors, you will provide senior‑level oversight of project performance and ensure that accurate, timely information is available to support effective decision‑making.
You will oversee the development and implementation of project controls processes, monitor performance against approved baselines, identify emerging risks and trends, and drive corrective actions where required.
This role offers the opportunity to play a key leadership role in delivering some of North America’s largest mission‑critical developments while establishing and driving best practice across Project Controls.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation, and governance of the overall project controls strategy.
- Establish and maintain robust project controls processes across schedule, cost, risk, change, progress, and reporting.
- Ensure project controls systems and processes are aligned with client objectives, project requirements, and contractual obligations.
- Develop and maintain project controls baselines and performance measurement frameworks.
- Provide senior oversight of project performance throughout design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
- Identify trends, variances, and emerging issues and drive appropriate corrective actions.
- Ensure project teams have accurate and timely information to support effective decision‑making.
2. Schedule & Progress Management
- Provide senior oversight of integrated master schedules across design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
- Review contractor schedules, progress updates, critical path analysis, and recovery programs.
- Monitor progress against approved baselines and identify schedule risks, delays, and recovery opportunities.
- Lead schedule performance reviews and ensure key milestones and dependencies are actively managed.
- Coordinate schedule inputs across multiple contractors, consultants, and delivery teams.
- Ensure schedule performance is appropriately integrated with cost, risk, change, and project reporting.
- Support delay analysis, schedule impact assessments, and recovery planning.
3. Cost & Forecast Management
- Oversee project cost control processes and ensure alignment between approved budgets, commitments, actual costs, and forecasts.
- Review cost reports, forecasts, cash flow projections, and financial performance indicators.
- Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets and identify emerging cost risks.
- Coordinate with Commercial and Cost Management teams to ensure accurate cost reporting and forecasting.
- Support the development and maintenance of project cost baselines.
- Provide senior management with clear visibility of current and forecast project financial performance.
- Identify opportunities for cost mitigation and improved financial performance.
4. Risk, Change & Performance Management
- Lead the integration of project risk, change, cost, and schedule management.
- Establish and maintain project risk and change management processes.
- Identify and assess risks that may impact project cost, schedule, scope, or delivery.
- Monitor change events and assess their potential impact on project baselines.
- Ensure change is appropriately captured, assessed, tracked, and reported.
- Lead the development of mitigation and contingency strategies for key project risks.
- Evaluate contractor recovery plans and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Provide senior‑level insight into project trends, risks, and performance drivers.
5. Stakeholder Coordination & Leadership
- Lead project controls coordination across Project Management, Design, Construction, Commercial, Commissioning, and client teams.
- Chair project controls meetings, performance reviews, and reporting workshops.
- Present project performance, risks, trends, forecasts, and key issues to senior client stakeholders.
- Coordinate project controls inputs from multiple contractors and consultants.
- Drive accountability and ownership of project performance across delivery teams.
- Act as a senior point of contact for project controls matters on behalf of the client.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with client representatives, contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Lead the production of executive‑level project controls reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
- Develop and maintain weekly and monthly project performance reporting.
- Provide clear analysis of cost, schedule, risk, change, progress, and forecast performance.
- Develop project controls dashboards and management information to support senior decision‑making.
- Maintain accurate project controls records, registers, trackers, and performance databases.
- Prepare executive summaries highlighting key trends, risks, variances, and required actions.
- Ensure project reporting is accurate, consistent, timely, and aligned with client governance requirements.
- Establish and maintain project controls governance procedures and standards.
- Ensure project controls processes are consistently implemented across project teams and delivery partners.
- Develop project controls tools, templates, reporting standards, and processes.
- Drive standardization and best practice across project controls activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve project performance through data‑driven analysis.
- Support the implementation and optimization of project controls systems and technology.
- Ensure project controls information is accurate, auditable, and appropriately maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to project controls professionals.
- Support the development of planners, cost managers, project controls engineers, and other project controls personnel.
- Promote a proactive, collaborative, and solutions‑focused approach across project teams.
- Work closely with Construction, Commercial, BIM, Design, Quality, Safety, Commissioning, and Project Management teams.
- Contribute to the development of GagaMuller's Project Controls capability, standards, and best practices.
