Job summary

NewGround is seeking a Senior Project Architect to lead the preparation of architectural construction documents and coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and interior teams, as well as outsourced consultants. You will guide project design in client meetings and ensure compliance with building codes.

This role requires architecture licensure, NCARB and LEED credentials preferred, and a track record of at least ten years in commercial architecture.

Qualifications

• Architectural license required with NCARB preferred.
• LEED AP credential preferred; multiple state licenses valued.
• 10+ years of professional experience in commercial architecture.

Responsibilities

• Prepare working drawings.
• Coordinate with Design Architect on project design.
• Coordinate with Project Executives, Marketing and Business Development on project delivery.
• Project design lead in client design meetings.
• Coordinate with local project AHJs.
• Prepare clarification of project development documents.
• Assist in preparation of Contract Change Orders.
• Assist checking shop drawings.
• Make field trips as necessary to verify information.
• Coordinate with engineering and specifications.
• Assist in the preparation in specifications.
• Be knowledgeable on application of building regulations to projects.
• Function as detailer to complete projects on schedule and within budget.
• Perform all other related work as assigned or apparent.
• Assist Design Studio Head in mentoring junior staff.
