Position Overview

HDR is seeking a Senior Project Architect to join our Healthcare Architecture Practice in Charlotte or Raleigh, NC. The role involves leading multidisciplinary teams, coordinating project phases, ensuring code compliance, and overseeing architectural documentation and specifications.

Responsibilities

1. Lead multidisciplinary teams and perform layout and detailing on architectural projects.
2. Coordinate work across project phases and with various disciplines.
3. Conduct owner/client meetings and participate in reviews with governing agencies.
4. Perform site work sessions with project teams.
5. Manage workload and ensure timely completion of documents.
6. Review documents for conflicts and perform QA/QC.
7. Write and edit architectural specifications.
8. Coordinate with disciplines on addenda, RFIs, CPRs, and change orders.
9. Lead projects in dual management roles as needed.
10. Provide construction contract administration as needed.
11. Perform other related duties.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field.
• At least 10 years of experience.
• Registered Architect.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Autodesk Revit, and related tools.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in architectural contract documents and specifications.
• Knowledge of codes and planning skills.
• Active participation in our employee-owned culture.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Architecture.
• Experience with healthcare projects.
• Interest in sustainable design/LEED.
• Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, 3D Studio Max, Rhino, Grasshopper.
• Local candidates preferred.
