Job summary

DGA is seeking a seasoned Project Architect in San Diego to lead commercial projects from concept through completion. You will manage multiple projects, coordinate with internal and external teams, and ensure design excellence with adherence to codes and budgets.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of experience, California licensure (or in process), and strong client relations. Benefits include comprehensive health coverage, 401k, paid time off, and a staff development allowance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of technical expertise in commercial architecture.
• Licensed in California or in process.
• Proficiency in REVIT, Bluebeam, and MS Office; ACC and BIM360 a plus.
• Strong understanding of building codes, CBC/ADA accessibility, and construction techniques.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple projects from concept through completion.
• Produce and coordinate construction documents for permitting and bidding.
• Respond to AHJ plan check comments during permitting.
• Lead construction administration and review RFIs, specs, and shop drawings.
• Develop project work plans and manage staff and client relationships.
