Job summary

Archinect is seeking an experienced Senior Architect to lead design teams in Phoenix, delivering comprehensive project documentation and technical specifications. The role emphasizes professional judgment, client relationships, and adherence to firm-wide quality standards.

The ideal candidate brings a strong design orientation, extensive experience in contract documents, and deep knowledge of building codes. This in-person position offers opportunities to mentor staff and shape firm practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master of Architecture from an accredited program is required.
  • 10+ years of experience in an architecture firm.
  • Architecture license required for Senior Project Architect.
  • Proficiency with Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a multi-disciplinary design team and develop technical specifications.
  • Lead presentations to design team and clients; communicate project status and build relationships.
  • Coordinate with other design disciplines, vendors, and Owner’s representatives to align engineering systems and documents.
  • Prepare written documentation of meetings and communications related to the project.
  • Ensure deliverables meet time, budget, and scope; monitor the work plan.
  • Mentor Project Architects and Designers.
  • Contribute to QA/QC processes firm-wide and lead presentations at internal meetings.
  • Prepare presentations and lead RM University activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team including design, selection, coordination, architectural and interior detailing, and development of the technical specifications
  • Lead presentation of ideas to the design team and to clients. Communicate project status and build relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and other team members
  • Communicate with other design disciplines, vendors, product representatives, and Owner’s vendors to ensure coordination of engineering systems, equipment, and project documents
  • Prepare written documentation of meetings and other communication related to the project
  • Ensure that deliverables meet internal and external project parameters, including time, budget, and scope. Monitor adherence to the work plan
  • Proactively monitor project progress. Perform quality assurance reviews of design and contract documents. Provide constructive feedback and support to the design team
  • Provide mentorship to Project Architects, Project Interior Designers, Project Designers, and Designers
  • Provide subject matter expertise. Contribute to firm-wide quality assurance and quality control processes. Prepare presentations and lead activities at RMC University meetings
