Job summary

The Walsh Group - Walsh Construction & Archer Western is seeking a Senior Accountant for a Data Center project in LaPorte, IN. The role oversees accounting for mega-projects, maintains independence, and collaborates with the Accounting Manager and Controller.

The candidate will handle subcontract processing, subcontractor lien waivers, monthly invoices, cost reports, and owner billings, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting across the project’s finances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or business-related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in construction accounting or related field.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and processes subcontracts, subcontract change orders and Performance and Payment bonds to ensure they are in compliance with specified terms.
• Collects and reviews project subcontractor/supplier lien waivers.
• Collects, reviews, and processes subcontractor/supplier monthly project invoices. Ensures invoices are accrued properly and billed to the correct cost reports and phase codes.
• Ensures proper payments to all subcontractors and major suppliers.
• Has a strong understanding of Walsh cost report and related accounting functions for costs posted to the cost report.
• Understands Walsh monthly P&L process and ensures timely submittal and accuracy of P&Ls.
• Processes cost transfers on project cost report for Project Management staff.
• Produces owner billing monthly when applicable, and reviews owner billings with Accounting Manager or Controller.
• Monitors cash flow and tracks A/R with project staff as projects get paid.
• Works independently and manages Accounting operations for mega-projects or multiple large projects.

Education
