Job summary

Construction Engineering in Farmingdale, NY, is seeking a Senior Project Accountant to drive financial strategy, cost controls, and revenue optimization across major capital initiatives. You will partner with project managers and executive leadership to monitor profitability on multi-year projects.

This onsite role requires 7–10 years in heavy civil or large infrastructure project accounting, a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance (CPA a plus), and advanced Excel/JD Edwards skills to forecast cash

Qualifications

7 to 10 years of progressive project accounting experience in heavy civil or large infrastructure construction environments.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA is a plus.
Experience with percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting and long-term project lifecycles.

Responsibilities

Track job costs across labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor commitments with variance explanations.
Develop forward-looking revenue forecasts and cash flow models for multi-year projects.
Ensure proper recognition of progress billings, scope changes, and change orders.
Oversee financial management of project claims to protect margins.
Lead regular financial reviews with Project Managers and Operations Directors to discuss performance and risk.
Support annual planning and rolling forecasts with regional financial leadership.
