Job summary

ANS is a dynamic consulting engineering firm known for multi-disciplinary expertise and rapid growth. We seek a Senior Project Accountant to support the project accounting lifecycle, maintain project data in NetSuite, and apply overtime revenue recognition methods to meet US GAAP and reporting goals.

The ideal candidate will leverage ERP data to provide finance insights, understand data integrity risks, and help develop best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project accounting leadership to perform recurring accounting procedures, in connection with month-end-close and as part of the day-to-day
• Review the data underlying revenue calculations to ensure accurate and updated timely (e.g., contract value/sales order amounts, cost budgets, actual costs applied, labor hours)
• Perform monthly revenue recognition calculations utilizing percentage-of-completion and cost-to-complete methodologies
• Analyze work-in-progress schedules and investigate/resolve project variances, cost overruns, margin fluctuations, and data validation errors
• Ensure compliance with ASC 606 and company revenue recognition policies
• Assist with external audit requests and provide supporting documentation for project accounting audit areas
• Develop and enhance project accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting capabilities within NetSuite as ANS continues its process maturity journey
• Provide leadership and coaching of junior team members and interns
