Job summary

Select Building Group in Denver seeks a Lead Accountant / Project Accountant to oversee daily accounting operations and project accounting across multiple entities. The role handles bank and GL reconciliations, month-end close, AP/AR/payments, and construction billing with a hands-on approach.

The ideal candidate independently reconciles accounts, prepares journal entries, and keeps accounting and project deadlines on track, collaborating with project managers and finance teams to ensure

Qualifications

• Five or more years of progressive accounting experience; construction and multi-entity experience preferred.
• Independently reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts and prepare journal entries.
• Experience with job costing, WIP, progress billing, and retainage.
• Strong Excel skills; proficiency with Sage 300 or Sage Intacct or comparable software.

Responsibilities

• Perform bank, credit card, and GL reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Reconcile AP, AR, payroll, intercompany balances, and project accounting records to the GL.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepaids, allocations and corrections with support.
• Own month-end close tasks, review balances, and maintain reporting schedules.
• Maintain project budgets, contracts, change orders, and penny-test billing backup.
