At CAB Enterprises, we pride ourselves on fostering a service-oriented culture that values the collective skills and contributions of our team members. Position Summary

The Senior Project Accountant plays a critical role in supporting Electrolit’s continued growth by leading accounting workstreams for strategic, cross-functional initiatives. Reporting directly to the Controller, this position operates in a hybrid role that blends hands-on accounting execution with project leadership, ensuring that new processes, systems, and business initiatives are designed correctly from an accounting, control, and reporting perspective from day one.

This role owns accounting-related initiatives from concept through full operational deployment, personally executing key accounting work, building scalable and compliant processes, and transitioning solutions to the operational accounting team in a turnkey, sustainable state. The Senior Project Accountant acts as a trusted partner to Finance, IT, Operations, and Process Improvement teams and is expected to bring structure, accountability, and clarity within a fast-paced, high-growth consumer products environment.

Location: Houston TX (on-site)

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution & Accounting Operations

  • Perform hands-on accounting activities necessary to support new business initiatives, including journal entries, reconciliations, account mappings, reporting, and system configuration.
  • Own the accounting workstream for cross-functional projects, ensuring financial processes are accurately designed, executed, and aligned with Electrolit’s reporting and control standards.
  • Partner closely with the Controller, Finance leadership, Operations, IT, and external stakeholders to execute accounting deliverables tied to business growth.
  • Maintain full accountability for the accuracy, completeness, and quality of all accounting outputs related to assigned initiatives.

Process Development & Optimization

  • Design, document, and implement scalable accounting processes that support Electrolit’s growth, complexity, and evolving operational footprint
  • Identify inefficiencies, manual workarounds, and control gaps; recommend and implement practical, sustainable improvements
  • Ensure all newly developed workflows align with internal controls, compliance requirements, and segregation-of-duties standards
  • Provide financial and operational insights to support continuous improvement across project-based accounting activities.

Systems & Implementation

  • Support ERP and accounting system implementations, enhancements, and process changes across finance and operations
  • Translate business requirements into effective accounting workflows and system configurations
  • Participate in testing, validation, and go-live activities to ensure accounting accuracy and reporting integrity
  • Support integration of new business processes, vendors, warehouses, or distribution channels into financial systems

Transition to Operations

  • Ensure new accounting processes are fully documented, tested, and operationally ready prior to transition
  • Develop training materials and conduct knowledge-transfer sessions for the operational accounting team
  • Provide post-implementation support to stabilize processes and ensure successful adoption

Project Coordination & Governance

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the accounting team and cross-functional project stakeholders, including IT and Process Improvement
  • Coordinate accounting activities to align with project timelines, milestones, and dependencies
  • Track and manage accounting-specific deliverables, proactively communicating risks, constraints, or resource needs
  • Actively complete accounting deliverables as part of project execution—not simply coordination
  • Ensure accounting requirements are clearly defined, documented, and embedded into broader project plans
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong hands-on, execution-driven mindset with comfort operating in a build-and-improve environment
  • Proven ability to design, document, and implement accounting processes in a growing organization
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Strong communicator capable of influencing cross-functional partners and explaining accounting concepts to non-finance audiences
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Excel proficiency and experience with ERP systems (SAP experience a plus)
  • Ability to meet routine month-end deadlines while supporting project-based work
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and project-based cost tracking
  • Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis within a CPG or distribution-focused environment
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, with exposure to project-based work, process improvement, or system implementations
  • Strong foundational understanding of accounting principles and financial operations
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • ERP implementation or process transformation experience preferred
  • CPA Preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
  • Ability to lift or move office materials up to 10 pounds.
  • Standard office environment with regular use of a computer, phone, and related equipment.
