CFS partners with a well-established real estate development company in Houston to hire a Senior Project Accountant who will own critical financials and collaborate across functions.

You will manage project accounting, loan draws, cash flows, and audits, with direct exposure to leadership. Strong Excel skills and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project accounting experience or public accounting with real estate clients.
• Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance required.
• Real estate or development experience is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Proactive, detail-oriented mindset and ability to run with assignments.

Responsibilities

• Own financial reporting (quarterly statements + book-to-GAAP).
• Manage loan draws, cash flow waterfalls & equity schedules.
• Support external audits and engineering reimbursements.
• Oversee lot & commercial sales accounting.
• Handle AP/AR processes and ensure data accuracy.
• Track MUD reimbursements & property taxes.
• Partner with project teams and leadership on ad hoc needs.
