Job summary

Meredith College seeks an experienced Senior Ellucian Colleague Programmer Analyst to design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications and integrations in support of academic and administrative operations.

The role partners with Information Systems staff to analyze requirements, recommend technical solutions, and deliver high-quality applications that enhance institutional efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience developing and supporting Ellucian Colleague ERP applications.
  • 2+ years of ASP.NET Core web development.
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC and Git or similar version control systems.
  • Practical knowledge of Unidata/SQL, Unix, Unibasic, and Colleague Studio.
  • Familiarity with FERPA and higher education compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and document custom applications for Ellucian Colleague ERP.
  • Perform unit testing, debugging, and code reviews for quality.
  • Create and support administrative software interfaces (Colleague, Ellucian Self-Service, ETHOS Integration, Informer, PowerFAIDS, CSGold, and Slate).
  • Develop custom reports using Informer and Colleague.
  • Plan and execute Self-Service upgrades and deployments.
  • Review Colleague updates for impact on custom mods.
  • Collaborate with users to define testing procedures and assess module impacts.
  • Support users in developing workflows and suggest procedural changes.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and data governance policies.
  • Availability for after-hours and weekend maintenance.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Ellucian Colleague Programmer Analyst to support, develop, and enhance our Ellucian Colleague ERP environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise applications and integrations that support academic and administrative operations. This position works closely with functional departments and Information Systems staff to analyze business requirements, recommend technical solutions, and deliver high-quality applications that improve institutional efficiency.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Application Development: Design, develop, and document custom applications.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Perform unit testing, debugging, and code reviews to ensure high-quality, maintainable code.
  • Systems Integration: Create and support administrative software and interfaces (including Colleague, Ellucian Self-Service, ETHOS Integration, Informer, PowerFAIDS, CSGold, and Slate).
  • Reporting: Develop custom reports utilizing Informer and Colleague.
  • Upgrades & Deployment: Plan and implement Self-Service upgrades and custom application deployments.
  • Impact Analysis: Review Colleague software updates and determine their impact on custom modifications.
  • Project Collaboration: Lead or assist in projects, collaborate with users to develop testing procedures, and analyze impacts on other modules or applications.
  • Procedural Support: Support users in developing workflows and suggest procedural changes where necessary.
  • Security & Compliance: Ensure compliance with institutional security standards, data governance policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Availability: Perform these and other duties during after-hours and weekends when occasionally required.

Education & Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • ERP Experience: 5+ years of experience developing and supporting Ellucian Colleague ERP applications.
  • Web Development: 2+ years of experience developing and deploying web applications using ASP.NET Core.
  • Methodologies: Strong knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and source code management using Git (or similar version control systems).
  • Technical Stack: Practical knowledge of Unidata/SQL, Unix, Unibasic, and Colleague Studio.
  • Compliance: Familiarity with data security standards, FERPA, and higher education compliance requirements.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands

This position will initially require an on-site presence during the first 90 days of employment. Upon successful completion of the 90-day introductory period and demonstration of the ability to independently perform the essential duties of the position, the employee will be eligible to transition to a fully remote work arrangement, subject to organizational approval and applicable remote-work policies. Remote work must be completed within the state of North Carolina. Ability to work after hours and on weekends when urgent operational needs or maintenance windows require it.
