Job summary

Illinois Farm Bureau is seeking a seasoned software professional to design, develop, document, test, and integrate software solutions that support our business needs. The role includes evaluating third-party software, maintaining systems, and leading technology projects and upgrades to improve our operations.

The position requires 7+ years of relevant experience, flexibility for maintenance windows, and the ability to travel occasionally.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant experience or a combination of related experience, education and training.
  • Normal office environment.
  • Extensive computer work.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed, including outside of regular business hours for maintenance, upgrades and cyclical processes.
  • Ability to lift, move and/or carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasional travel.

Responsibilities

  • Translates user requirements into technical specifications and documents, designs and codes programs.
  • Develops, designs, recommends and implements software solutions to meet business needs.
  • Serves as project manager for technology projects, software implementations and systems upgrades.
  • Supports testing and debugging of solutions and resolves software issues.
  • Diagnoses and resolves software issues and detects trends in support requests for code revisions.
  • Maintains detailed system documentation and produces reports as assigned.

About the role

Designs, develops/codes, documents, tests, implements and integrates new and existing software solutions to meet the business needs of the Illinois Farm Bureau (IFB). Supports and maintains third-party software solutions. Analyzes user needs, system requirements and business processes to determine technical requirements. Identifies, evaluates and recommends new technologies for implementation.

Detects trends and patterns in support requests that indicate a need for code revision. - Develops and maintains detailed system documentation. Provides various reports as assigned. - Exercises professional leadership by keeping abreast of current trends, developments, technologies, methodologies and opportunities within field of responsibility.

Base Pay Range:

$89,200-$122,650

The base pay range represents the typical range of potential salary offers for candidates hired. Factors used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, qualifications and experience.

Incentive Pay:

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a Short-Term Incentive plan.
