Job summary

Lynker Technologies is seeking a Program Systems Engineering Lead to provide senior engineering, scientific, and programmatic support for the NOAA LEO Program in Greenbelt, MD. The role offers hybrid or on-site work and deep collaboration with the LEO Senior Scientist and Chief Systems Engineer across architecture, requirements, and operations from design to transition.

The ideal candidate will have advanced systems engineering expertise, extensive satellite knowledge, and strong communication

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree or equivalent in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, or physical/environmental science.
  • 15–20 years of related experience in the above requirements.
  • Deep knowledge of satellite systems engineering: orbit/attitude, launch, operations, configuration management.
  • Experience with software engineering standards, metrics, and requirements in government/aerospace.
  • Proven liaison capability across NOAA, NASA, flight/ground teams and science groups.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the societal/economic benefits of LEO data and prepare value assessment reports.
  • Support the LEO Scientist in communicating mission data and bridging research and operations.
  • Review LEO system implementation plans, concepts, requirements, and configuration management.
  • Support documentation, software process metrics, architecture, and ops concepts.
  • Coordinate with NOAA/NASA teams to align program and science efforts.
  • Provide SME on installation, testing, transition to operations, and acquisition planning.
  • Advise on RF spectrum policy and direct broadcast considerations.
