Job summary

Odyssey is seeking a Senior Program Systems Engineer to support the AFLCMC/EBZ in the DoD acquisition lifecycle. This role requires strong systems engineering, requirements management, and risk analysis within a multidisciplinary team.

You will collaborate with program management, logistics, test, and cybersecurity to ensure integrated system performance and successful program milestones. Onsite at Eglin AFB, FL with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Citizenship: must be a US citizen.
• Clearance: current Top Secret clearance.
• Senior: BS with 20+ years, MS with 15+, or PhD with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience supporting DoD acquisition programs or similar engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Support systems engineering activities across all DoD lifecycle phases.
• Assist requirements development, traceability, and verification.
• Perform system design, integration, and technical analysis.
• Develop and review technical documentation and engineering reports.
• Support technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) and program milestones.

• Analyze system performance and recommend improvements.
• Support risk identification, analysis, and mitigation planning.

Position Summary

Odyssey has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Program Systems Engineer supporting the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Disruptive Futures division (AFLCMC/EBZ) at Eglin AFB, FL. This position provides the knowledge and experience to efficiently and effectively deliver weapons systems engineering capabilities in support of the acquisition process. The division is in a uniquely qualified and independent position as an arm of the AF Armament Directorate by its ability to utilize the expertise of the entire AF armament enterprise to hone requirements discussions, guide and evaluate technology developments, analyze new concepts/tradespace, execute and coordinate rapid demonstrations, and capture/propagate lessons learned from across the DoD, its industry partners, and non-traditional sources.

Our Systems Engineers apply and execute the following technical processes: requirements definition and analysis, architecture design, implementation, integration, verification and validation, transition, decision analysis, technical planning, technical assessment, requirements management, risk management, configuration management, technical data management, and interface management.

Responsibilities

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Support systems engineering activities across all phases of the DoD acquisition lifecycle (Materiel Solution Analysis through Operations & Support)
• Support requirements development, analysis, traceability, and verification
• Conduct system design, integration, and technical analysis activities
• Develop and review technical documentation, including specifications, interface documents, and engineering reports
• Support technical reviews (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR) and program milestone activities
• Collaborate with program management, logistics, test, and cybersecurity teams to ensure integrated system performance
• Analyze system performance and recommend design or process improvements
• Support risk identification, analysis, and mitigation planning
• Provide technical input to acquisition documentation and program decision-making

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications

• Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen
• Clearance: Current Top Secret clearance
• Senior: Bachelor of Science degree in related discipline and 20 years of relevant experience; OR Master of Science degree in related discipline and 15 years of relevant experience; OR PhD in related discipline and 5 years of relevant experience
• Experience supporting DoD acquisition programs or similar engineering environments
• Experience supporting system development, integration, and/or sustainment activities
• Experience with requirements management tools (DOORS or similar) and modeling tools (SysML or similar)

Preferred Qualifications

• Undergraduate and/or graduate engineering degree from a college or university with an Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited engineering program.
• Experience with armament systems (air-to-air, air-to-surface munitions, missiles, or related systems)
• Knowledge of DoD acquisition lifecycle processes and DoDI 5000 series

Technical Skills

• Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS) and modeling tools (e.g., SysML)
• Risk management and technical problem-solving
• Configuration management and technical documentation
