Job summary

The Illinois State Board of Education is seeking a Program Monitor (Principal Consultant) to coordinate investigations, support compliance efforts, and promote safe, inclusive schools in Illinois.

Reporting to the Director, you will partner with regional offices and serve as a BEACON parent navigator while researching topics like discipline, bullying, and inclusion to inform policy and practice.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent in Education, Social Work, School Psychology, Special Education or related field.
• Two years of relevant professional experience in education settings (public school districts, ROEs, etc.).
• Knowledge and application of the Illinois School Code.

Responsibilities

• Responds to investigations and inquiries from parents, students, and the public.
• Supports cross-department collaboration on compliance issues.
• Serves as a parent navigator in the BEACON system.
• Researches and disseminates information on priority topics like student discipline and bullying.
