Job summary

Reporting to the Supervisor, you will provide guidance on compliance, support districts and parents, and analyze topics such as student discipline and bullying to advance the department's mission.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education or Bachelor's in Education plus two years of relevant professional experience.
• Two years of relevant professional experience in a public school district, regional office of education, or state education agency.
• Research in and application of the mandates of the Illinois School Code.
• Thorough knowledge of the Illinois School Code.

Responsibilities

• Responds to and participates in the investigation of inquiries and complaints from parents, students, community members and others; participates in implementation of programs that protect students and ensure safe learning environments.
• Supports agency staff with questions regarding compliance issues to enable cross-department collaboration.
• Provides general support and technical assistance to parents and students to meet needs of the whole child.
• Researches and disseminates information on priority topics such as student discipline, bullying, inclusion, and time-out and physical restraint.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
