Job summary

Spire Inc. seeks an experienced Program Manager to lead and optimize a portfolio of strategic initiatives in our St. Louis office.

You will align programs with business objectives, drive cross-functional collaboration, and implement governance across the PMO to deliver value on quality, cost, and schedule. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience, PMP certification, and proven success in Agile/hybrid environments, Lean portfolio practices, and large-scale program leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an analytical field; Master’s preferred
• PMP or equivalent project management certification required
• 10+ years’ related experience, 5–7 years managing project managers
• Experience with Agile, Lean Portfolio Management, and PMBOK principles
• Strong budgeting, scheduling, and reporting capabilities
• Knowledge of change management practices preferred

Responsibilities

• Plan, forecast, and manage a portfolio of projects through lifecycles
• Lead annual business planning and initiative definition with lean business cases
• Integrate program plans with company strategy and cross-functional impacts
• Establish governance and standards across departments; monitor performance
• Apply Lean Portfolio Management to maximize portfolio results
• Maintain project portfolio tool and analytics for reporting and improvement
• Lead data-driven decisions and drive process improvements
• Coach project teams and ensure strong handoffs between programs
• Identify risks early and develop mitigation strategies
• Provide transparent status updates to Leadership Council and Board
