Job summary

Wabtec Corporation, Buffalo Grove, IL, seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead multi-year new product development and large customized design projects from cradle to grave. You will coordinate engineering, manufacturing, sales, quality, and finance teams to ensure on-time delivery within budget and to quality standards.

The role requires 8+ years in PM/engineering/manufacturing, strong leadership, and proficiency with MS Project/Smartsheet, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in project management, engineering, and manufacturing
• Master's degree or PMP (or equivalent) is a plus
• Proven track record delivering projects on time and within budget
• Proficient with PM tools: WBS, timelines, budgets, risk matrices, RACIs
• Strong planning, tracking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Effective leadership coordinating cross-functional groups
• Ability to present to customers and all organization levels
• Knowledge of NPD Stage Gate and related tools/standards
• Proficient in MS Project or Smartsheet, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Excellent oral and written communication; adaptability and integrity

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, multi-year new product development projects from cradle to grave
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, sales, quality, and finance
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans with timelines and budgets
• Facilitate regular status meetings and communicate updates to stakeholders
• Establish strong relationships with internal and external partners
• Manage project budgets and ensure targets are met
• Identify and mitigate project risks and roadblocks
• Maintain change management processes for scope changes
• Capture lessons learned for continuous improvement
• Guide APQP and R&D/NPD processes with engineering and manufacturing teams
• Provide expert engineering and manufacturing guidance to the team
