Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Program Manager to support a major project in the Chicago, IL area including Indiana. The role encompasses oversight of program activities, technical leadership, and proactive risk management to ensure successful delivery.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in program/project management, experience with large clients, and the ability to travel to Northeast Illinois, Northwest Indiana, and Southwest Michigan. Sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• BA/BS + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• 10+ years of experience in project management, program management and/or construction management.
• Experience with large manufacturing, technology and/or corporate sector clients.
• Ability to travel to project sites in Northeast Illinois, Northwest Indiana, and Southwest Michigan.
• Strong communication and team leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee program related activities for smaller programs or a defined part of a larger program, in support of the overall Program Manager.
• Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for program delivery at the program level or for elements of a program.
• Advocate for ethical and safe working practices.
• Supports innovation in program management approaches and methodology to achieve marketplace differentiation.
• Identify areas of high risk and pro-actively take actions to positively impact program outcomes.
• Contribute to the global learning and people development strategy for program management, including identification of talent gaps and resourcing plans.
• Assess long-term and disruptive trends in their area of expertise.
• Proposes skill development approaches and workforce planning to deliver capabilities for the future.
• Actively supports the attraction and retention of talent across area of expertise.
• Accountable for overall financial success and delivery of AECOM Program Management agreement.
