Purpose

The Senior Program Manager, Global Technical Operations serves as an expert within the technology community and leads program and/or portfolio initiatives for the organization. This role acts as the voice of supply chain during new product introduction for drug delivery devices. Applies analytics and reporting on an array of projects and creates data driven solutions for internal and external partners. Drives effective business decisions and communicates insights on organizational progress. The role covers several aspects of Product management: NPI (new product introduction) and LCM (life cycle management).

Key Responsibilities

The scope of the role for NPI

  • Partnering with R&D, Quality, Commercial and Supply Chain teams to establish and implement the most effective strategy for the product manufacturing process
  • Working closely with manufacturing site during process introduction and scale-up phases
  • Step in as technical lead of strategic and NPI programs
Scope Of Responsibilities
  • Build strong functional team, providing depth of knowledge and feedback and coaching to team members.
  • Follow defined processes & procedures related to new product development and life cycle management to ensure compliance and meet business deliverables.
  • Identify gaps in existing Processes and drive improvement activities to close them.
  • Define team's budget.
  • Support programs/projects budget built.
  • Lead Technical workstream in strategic and NPI programs.
  • Establish foundation for knowledge transfer and repository.
The Scope Of Role For LCM
  • Responsible for process excellence via efficient design, ensuring continuous improvement in process, cost, quality and production.
  • In the scope of this role, the manager will be allocating resources for process/design change related projects and supporting site engineering resolution of process related issues and non-conformances.
  • The manager will provide guidance to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility for LCM and NPI.
  • Recruit, train and guide resources to improve total performance and productivity.
  • Work with teams to ensure optimum levels of operability and maintainability.
  • Establish process definitions for all the stages of project life cycle.
  • Ensure that the project is performed with good quality and budget control. Evaluate process flows and provide recommendations. Optimize process systems for operational efficiency and cost savings. Plan organizational and technical strategies impacting budget, staffing, goals, and culture. Work with external teams to control manufacturing process of contract manufacturer plants, while managing base business and process changes.
Qualifications

Education

Minimum of Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent University degree required; focused degree in Engineering or Science related field preferred. Advanced degree or MBA preferred.

Required

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant professional work experience
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex, multi-functional projects with a focus on innovation and operational excellence.
  • Strong knowledge of the medical devices industry, including regulatory requirements and industry trends.
  • Project Management experience
  • People management/leadership experience.
  • Ability to develop program scope, develop people, manage technology, embrace financial goals and use customer-focused decision making.
  • Change management, project management, the ability to work effectively and drive alignment in a global environment through strong communication and empowerment.
  • Strong communication and management influence skills.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience leading medical device New Product Development teams.
  • Experience in building business strategies and driving strategy implementation.

Preferred

  • Medical Device, Pharmaceutical and/or Biologics experience or other regulated industry
  • Combination Product experience
  • Six Sigma/Process Excellence and/or Project Management/PMP/FPX certification

  • Position could be based in one of the following locations: Raritan NJ / Athens GA / Cincinnati OH
  • May require up to 25% domestic and/or international travel to other locations and sites

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

Benefits
