Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. in Moorpark, CA is seeking a Sr. Program Manager to oversee the execution of complex programs, manage cost/schedule/scope, and mentor other PMs.

You will serve as the single point of contact for internal and external customers and facilitate program reviews with leadership. The role requires deep program management expertise for high‑tech development programs, strong communication skills, and the ability to interface with government and commercial customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering or equivalent
• 12-15 years of Program Management experience
• Experience leading advanced technical development programs
• Experience managing CRAD development programs under OTA or FAR15
• Proven track record of leading multiple concurrent programs
• Experience managing firm fixed price programs and risk plans
• Strong knowledge of Project Management methods, tools and processes
• Able to interface with government and commercial customers
• Knowledge of export licenses for military products
• Proficient in MS Office tools

Responsibilities

• Provide PM leadership for program planning, top-down requirements and cost/schedule/scope estimation
• Lead bottom-up cost/schedule/scope estimation and IMS development
• Accountable for contractual deliverables within funded level and period
• Monitor program performance metrics and ensure customer satisfaction
• Define and manage program controls and success criteria
• Identify and manage program-level risk
• Publish data to support improvements in product development and customer relations
• Lead program meetings and reviews with customer and executives
• Develop and maintain program plans including budget and EAC
• Support creation and maintenance of product requirements
• Manage changes in program scope and advise leadership
• Support Business Development in bidding opportunities
• Oversee preparation of cost and technical proposals
• Ensure adherence to company policies and processes
• Produce program reports
• Other duties as assigned
