About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Program Manager to lead complex 3PL and specialty pharmaceutical programs from pre-launch planning through long-term lifecycle management.
This highly visible, customer-facing role brings together strategy, specialty distribution, market access, patient services, and operational execution. You will serve as a trusted partner to biopharma and specialty pharmaceutical customers while coordinating the internal teams responsible for delivering successful, scalable programs.
What You’ll Do
Lead Program Strategy and Execution
- Manage specialty pharmaceutical and 3PL programs from pre-launch planning and onboarding through ongoing lifecycle management
- Develop and advance execution plans aligned with commercial, market access, operational, and customer objectives
- Translate enterprise strategies into clear program priorities, deliverables, and timelines
- Evaluate scientific, clinical, financial, and strategic information to guide recommendations for complex therapies
- Use primary and secondary data to support program planning and decision-making
- Prepare executive reports, business cases, presentations, and customer-facing materials
- Independently determine the best approach for new and complex initiatives
Build Strong Customer Partnerships
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned biopharma and specialty pharmaceutical customers
- Deliver a responsive, high-touch customer experience throughout the program lifecycle
- Develop a strong understanding of each customer’s business model, challenges, priorities, and growth goals
- Lead customer meetings, business reviews, and strategic program discussions
- Communicate effectively with executive leaders and other key stakeholders
- Strengthen customer satisfaction, retention, and long-term partnership value
Coordinate Cross-Functional Delivery
- Partner with 3PL, market access, patient services, regulatory, legal, finance, IT, operations, and distribution teams
- Align internal stakeholders around customer expectations, program requirements, and launch milestones
- Ensure programs follow standardized processes while accommodating the needs of complex specialty therapies
- Identify program risks, dependencies, and operational gaps before they affect delivery
- Lead complex initiatives with broad organizational scope and long-term impact
- Support successful product launches, integrations, and ongoing program performance
Improve Programs and Operating Models
- Recommend improvements to workflows, metrics, processes, and operating models
- Help build scalable solutions that support continued organizational and customer growth
- Evaluate profitability, contracts, pricing, chargebacks, and program value streams
- Monitor performance and identify opportunities to strengthen operational and financial results
- Maintain accuracy and attention to detail across written, visual, and verbal communications
Support Team Development
- Share knowledge and provide guidance to less-experienced colleagues
- Promote collaboration, accountability, and consistent program-management practices
- Represent the organization with professionalism, integrity, sound judgment, and executive presence
Ideal Background
- Bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, healthcare, or a related field
- Eight to 12 years of relevant professional experience
- Experience in program management, healthcare consulting, specialty pharmaceutical distribution, or a 3PL environment
- Demonstrated success managing complex, cross-functional projects and customer-facing workstreams
- At least five years of experience in market access, specialty pharmacy, pharmaceutical distribution, or a related area preferred
- Three or more years of exposure to advanced or technically complex therapies preferred
- Strong understanding of regulated healthcare and pharmaceutical environments
- Business and financial knowledge related to profitability, contracts, pricing, and value streams
- Excellent strategic planning, problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making abilities
- Strong executive communication, presentation, and relationship-management skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- ERP experience preferred, particularly SAP
- Experience with pharmaceutical pricing, contracting, chargebacks, and large-scale integrations is a plus
- Ability to work on-site in Columbus, Ohio
