General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) seeks a Sr. Program Manager to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Information Technology (OIT) in the DC metropolitan area.

The role focuses on software product management within the BAM Portfolio. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage complex integrations, and drive IT governance, CI/CD, and agile practices to deliver high‑impact programs for VA/OIT.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

EXPERIENCE:

• 10+ years of portfolio/project management experience
• 7+ years of experience working in agile environments
• 4+ years of experience in requirements management
• IT Governance experience with DevOps practices and tools, such as continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
• Experience with software development methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall.
• Experience in managing transitions for applications with complex integrations, such as APIs, data migrations, or third-party integrations.
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and databases.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Experience in managing cross-functional teams, including developers, testers, infrastructure specialists, and other stakeholders.
• Experience analyzing complex technical issues and developing effective solutions.
• Experience communicating technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in managing vendor relationships

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Experience with IT service management frameworks and methodologies, such as ITIL, Agile, and/or CMMI.
• Experience with project management tools, such as JIRA, Asana, or MS Project.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science, or IT; four additional years of related experience may be substituted for a degree.

• Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP)
