Job summary

Astrion seeks a Senior Program Manager to directly support the USAF Crypto and Cyber Division located at Lackland AFB, TX, in San Antonio. This full-time, salaried role requires Top Secret clearance at hire and US citizenship.

Responsibilities span acquisition policy adherence, program analysis, briefings, and sustainment reporting. You will engage in planning across development, production, and deployment, delivering cost, schedule, and performance objectives within DoD guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must have and be able to maintain a TS/SCI level clearance.
  • Education: a Bachelor's Degree in a related field with 12 years of relevant experience, five of which are in the DoD; OR 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the PWS labor category, eight of which must be in the DoD.

Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive knowledge of systems acquisition and program management per DoDI 5000.02 and AFI 63-101/20-101.
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative techniques to measure program effectiveness and productivity.
  • Identify and recommend viable solutions to schedule and cost baselines and pursue alternatives.
  • Communicate effectively in writing and orally through quality program documentation.
  • Plan, research, analyze, and assess system acquisition across development, production, deployment, and sustainment of weapons systems.
  • Support and develop acquisition and sustainment reports (e.g., DAES, MAR).
  • Support program reviews and senior-level meetings (IMP/IMS).
  • Prepare and present briefing schedules of status and tasks to senior management.
  • Understand funding types, budgets, and Central Asset Management process.

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Program Manager directly supporting the USAF Crypto and Cyber Division, which is located at Lackland AFB, TX in San Antonio, TX.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must have and be able to maintain a TS/SCI level clearance
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five of which must be in the DoD
    • OR, 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the PWS labor category performance requirements, eight of which must be in the DoD.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of principles, policies, and practices of systems acquisition and program management, as defined in DoDI 5000.02 Operation of the Adaptive Acquisition Framework, AFI 63-101/20-101, as well as knowledge of roles and relationships within the DoD and the Air Force.
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative techniques for gathering, analyzing, and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of acquisition, sustainment, or modification programs.
  • Knowledge of support activities that assist the program manager in assessing what programs are within schedule and cost baselines, be able to recommend viable solutions to problems, and the pursuit of alternative courses of action.
  • Effectively communicate orally and in writing, providing quality acquisition and program documentation (briefings, documents, plans, etc.).
  • Plan, research, analyze, and assess system acquisition in terms of development, production, deployment and sustainment of weapons systems and associated equipment as well as formulate plans and recommend effective strategies in meeting cost, schedule, and performance objectives.
  • Support and develop acquisition and sustainment reports, including statutory and regulatory reports (i.e. Defense Acquisition Executive Summary (DAES), Monthly Activity Report (MAR), etc.).
  • Support program management reviews, senior level meeting/reviews, and IMP/IMS reviews.
  • Support and develop various briefings/schedules of program status and acquisition tasks to senior management.
  • Understand the different funding types, budgets and the Central Asset Management (CAM) process.
