Job summary

Teradyne is seeking a Program Management Department Manager in North Reading, MA to lead the Integrated System Test Division's program management function. You will build and mentor a high-performing team, improve portfolio visibility, and ensure disciplined execution across complex product development initiatives.

You will collaborate with Central PMO, engineering, and business leaders to align priorities, drive governance, and enable decisions on budget, schedule, risk, and scope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field required or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of experience in program, project, or portfolio management within complex engineering-driven technology environments.
• Strong product-development expertise with a proven record of improving cross-functional execution.
• Demonstrated ability to build, lead, coach, and develop high-performing program management teams.
• Proven ability to lead change, influence stakeholders, and drive adoption of standard PM practices.
• Strong executive communication skills with the ability to align teams, support decisions, and raise PM maturity.
• Experience leading teams and programs across global or multi-site organizations.
• Demonstrated ability to develop talent, strengthen team capability, and build accountability.
• Strong financial acumen, including budgets, forecasts, business cases, investment trade-offs, and portfolio variance analysis.
• PMI affiliation and PMP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the Program Management team to strengthen capability, consistency, and execution excellence.
• Develop and sustain disciplined product-development and program-management practices across the division.
• Collaborate with engineering, business, and cross-functional leaders to align priorities, resolve issues, and improve execution.
• Build portfolio-level visibility into program health, risks, scope changes, dependencies, and key decisions.
• Support R&D budget planning, forecasting, variance analysis, and investment trade-off discussions across the project portfolio.
• Partner with Central PMO leadership to drive adoption of standard PM practices through change leadership, communication, coaching, and operating rhythm discipline.
• Mentor program managers and strengthen accountability, ownership, and talent development within the team.
• Ensure programs have clear structure, schedule rigor, resource alignment, decision rights, escalation paths, and change control.
