Job summary

McKinstry, based in Seattle, seeks a seasoned Project Controller to own financial controls for a high-value program portfolio. You will manage cost-to-complete forecasting, multi-stream revenue, and owner billing while partnering with Legal, Tax and FP&A.

You will present financial updates to senior leadership, drive process improvements, and mentor staff to build stronger controls across large projects. This role emphasizes governance and strategic finance leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• CPA preferred; MBA with relevant track record considered.
• 15+ years leading financial controls on large, complex programs.
• Experience presenting to C-suite and owning financial outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Own financial controls for a major program, including budgeting and cost-to-complete.
• Lead owner billing and ensure compliant revenue recognition (ASC 606).
• Manage large subcontractor AP and ensure payment discipline.
• Coordinate with Legal, Tax, and F&A on multi-entity matters.
• Present updates to SVP/C-suite and senior stakeholders.
• Partner with FP&A for rate substantiation and executive reporting.
• Review contracts for financial risk and billing requirements.
• Lead month-end close and improve controls across programs.
• Mentor project finance staff to strengthen processes.
