Harlem Children's Zone (HCZ) seeks a Senior Program Evaluation Associate to join our Research & Evaluation Department in New York. The role focuses on designing and implementing evaluation systems, collecting and analyzing data, and sharing insights to improve program impact.

You will contribute to on-the-ground efforts to fight poverty, build outcomes for children and families, and communicate findings with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Health or Public Policy, Economics, Sociology, Psychology, Statistics, or Data Science); Ph.D. preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in program implementation and evaluation or academic research settings strongly preferred
• Experience with Excel, SPSS, Stata, or R, and online survey platforms (SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics)
• Outstanding analytical ability and comprehensive statistical knowledge
• Strong end-to-end project management skills with advanced attention to detail
• Ability to lead projects with minimal supervision while producing high-quality deliverables on time
• Ability to work effectively with colleagues across the organization with varying degrees of experience
• Ability to infer actionable insights from original and secondary research
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and data integrity
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage competing priorities effectively

Responsibilities

• Partner with department leaders and program teams to execute evaluation plans and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Collect, clean, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to assess program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
• Maintain data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness across all systems and programs.
• Conduct basic and advanced analyses to generate actionable insights for program planning and decision-making.
• Develop and refine outcome measures, indicators, and evaluation tools that capture program impact.
• Support the design, documentation, and optimization of data collection and reporting processes across departments.
• Prepare clear, data-driven reports, dashboards, and visualizations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate evaluation practices into daily operations and strategic planning.
• Provide ongoing data and evaluation support to program leaders to strengthen evidence-based decision-making.
• Stay current on emerging research methodologies, evaluation techniques, and data systems relevant to education and social impact.
