Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior Program Manager to oversee large construction programs in the Los Angeles area. You will lead the program development, schedule adherence, and risk mitigation while ensuring safety and compliance across multiple delivery teams.

With 15–20 years of PM/CM experience and familiarity with Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Office, you will drive client satisfaction, manage budgets above $10M, and present performance to executives. Some travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture.
• MBA and/or Masters in Project Management are desired.
• PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is also desired.
• High-level Construction Management process competencies.
• CMAA CM Professional certification or AIC professional constructors certification desired.
• Experience in AMI and utility metering field desired.
• 15 to 20 years of direct PM/CM experience in Building Construction.
• Ability to manage large programs of $10M+ with multiple disciplines.
• Proven track record of delivering large/complex projects on time and budget.
• Ability to lead and coordinate construction from concept to completion.
• Strong contract language & project accounting understanding.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong presentations.
• Ability to lead diverse teams and relocate as needed.
• Familiar with Primavera P6, MS Project, MS Office, Adobe Writer, Visio.

Responsibilities

• Manage the overall performance of Johnson Controls’ larger projects.
• Organize the program development effort and monitoring progress against plan.
• Represent Johnson Controls to exceed customer satisfaction and safety compliance.
• Lead Project Delivery Teams and coordinate with Sponsors, Business Development and Delivery Teams.
• Develop and maintain the Program Management Plan and risk recovery plans.
• Mentor project teams and assess training needs for future leaders.
• Provide timely reporting of projects via systems reporting.
• Present to Executive Management on performance and forecast.
• Manage subcontracting strategies and relationships with major subs.
• Oversee scope management and resource allocation to meet objectives.
• Ensure document controls meet contract requirements.
• Seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen relationships.
