The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) supports the operations of state government by providing essential services, including managing recruitment, training, compensation, benefits, and performance. This position is within the Human Resource (HR) Operations Division, which supports the department in fostering a productive, inclusive, and compliant workplace while ensuring the well-being and development of its staff.
As a valued new employee to NMDOT, you may be eligible to receive three (3) days of administrative leave upon your start date. This is applicable to external hires not within the State of New Mexico Government.
This Senior Program Coordinator will assist the HR Division with strategic planning and coordination on recruitment efforts statewide, including rapid hires, job fairs, radio ads, social medial posts, and developing and maintaining meaningful relationships with schools across the state. The position will have positive organizational impact on NMDOT outreach, recruitment, and hiring, improving the agency's ability to attract the most qualified applicants.

The ideal candidate will have preferred experience and/or education in the following:
Associate's Degree and three (3) years of experience in program administration or project management in areas related to the purpose of the position. Any combination of education and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling five (5) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course certificate as a condition of continued employment.
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. Occasional travel is required for meetings and conferences.
This position is not covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
