Job summary

EDMO is seeking a Senior Program Assistant to support the Senior Program Manager and oversee daily operations at our Berkeley sites. The role includes stepping into the Program Manager when needed, guiding staff, and ensuring a positive experience for children and families.

Ideal candidates have experience in after-school settings, a Bachelor’s in education or related field, strong leadership, communication, and a collaborative spirit.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in after-school programs or similar educational settings.
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, or related field preferred.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with students, parents, staff.
• Problem-solving, organization, and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Site Management: oversee site operations when the Senior Program Manager is away.
• Program Support: help plan daily activities and SEL/STEAM.
• Staff Supervision: mentor and train new hires.
• Parent Communication: serve as a contact for parents.
• Safety and cleanliness: ensure safety protocols and cleanliness.
