Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a logistics and supply management consultant to advise DoD and government clients on process improvements, performance analytics, and organizational change. You will develop reports and dashboards in Power BI and translate findings into actionable recommendations for senior leadership.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive transformation, monitor metrics, and deliver executive-level deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Experience in logistics and/or supply management for U.S. Department of Defense organizations or programs.
  • Ability to analyze complex operational problems, synthesize information, and develop practical, data-driven recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Job description

  • Advise Defense and government clients on supply and logistics improvements, efficiency, effectiveness, and organizational performance.
  • Analyze business processes, policies, workflows, and organizational structures to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Drive process improvement and operational transformation initiatives, documenting current-state and future-state processes.
  • Apply organizational change management principles to support adoption of new processes, systems, tools, and practices.
  • Analyze operational and logistics data for trends, performance gaps, root causes, and optimization opportunities.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Microsoft Power BI.
  • Translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations for clients and senior leadership.
  • Support management and optimization of business and logistics systems, including requirements development, process integration, testing, implementation, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop presentations, briefing materials, analytical products, and deliverables for government and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional logistics, supply management, contracting, operations, technology, and organizational leadership teams.
  • Monitor program performance and assist with metrics, performance indicators, and management reporting.
  • Apply Defense logistics and supply policies, procedures, and practices to align solutions with mission requirements.
  • Support additional strategic initiatives and operational improvement efforts as required.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in logistics and/or supply management supporting U.S. Department of Defense organizations or programs.
  • Strong understanding of logistics and/or supply policies, processes, and operational practices within the Defense environment.
  • Ability to analyze complex operational problems, synthesize information from multiple sources, and develop practical, data-driven recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and operate effectively in a client-facing environment.
  • Must be located in Albany, Georgia, or willing to travel approximately 10–25% based on client and program requirements.
  • Desired: U.S. Marine Corps experience, particularly in logistics, supply, maintenance, or related operational functions.
  • Desired: Experience with secondary repairables (Class IX equipment) within a Defense logistics or supply environment, supporting any military service.
  • Desired: Familiarity with Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (Navy ERP), GCSS-MC, ELMS WM, and/or other related Defense enterprise logistics / supply systems.
  • Desired: Experience supporting large-scale process improvement, organizational transformation, or change management initiatives.
  • Desired: Experience developing executive-level dashboards, briefings, and analytical products for government or Defense leadership.
  • Desired: Experience with data analysis, reporting, and data visualization, including demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Power BI.
  • Desired: Experience working directly with government clients or within a management consulting environment.
