Job summary

The interdisciplinary Criminal Justice Doctoral Program at CUNY invites applications for a joint appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor at the CUNY Graduate Center and at John Jay College (home department to be determined).

We seek a highly accomplished, internationally renowned scholar with a strong quantitative research background, ready to teach and mentor at both institutions, beginning Fall 2026.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
• A distinguished record of scholarly achievement and publication sufficient to merit appointment with tenure at the Associate or Full Professor rank.
• Demonstrated capacity to teach at undergraduate and graduate (Ph.D.) levels.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate Research Excellence: Maintain an outstanding agenda that results in high-impact publications and national/international recognition.
• Teach at the Graduate Center and at John Jay: Teach, mentor, and supervise doctoral students in The Graduate Center's Ph.D. program at John Jay College, including chairing dissertation committees and serving as a faculty research advisor.
• Seek External Funding: Actively seek external research funding and grants to support their work and doctoral student research.
• Engage in Service: Actively engage in all aspects of the PhD program activities, as well as service in the candidate's home department.
