Job summary

NextGenEnergyJobs is seeking a Senior Professional Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in HVAC, plumbing, processing, and other mechanical system design for heavy industrial facilities and site operations. The role focuses on leading design efforts, coordinating across disciplines, and delivering high-quality proposals and client presentations.

The ideal candidate will hold a PE, bring 10+ years of progressive experience, and be able to travel up to 10% for site visits and meetings.

Our employee-owned and multi-disciplined team of engineering and design professionals is looking for a Senior Professional Mechanical Engineer who has extensive experience designing a variety of HVAC, plumbing, processing, and other mechanical system design projects for heavy industrial facilities and site operations t

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university in Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) with ten or more years of progressive experience designing various industrial mechanical systems including ventilation and process piping.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of the project development process including coordination with other disciplines during design and construction.
• Ability to apply effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills when developing proposals, negotiating project contracts, preparing technical reports, leading project team meetings, delivering client presentations, and participating in client consultations.
• Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop less experienced professionals with an emphasis on technical design standards, quality control, and/or project management practices.
• Prior experience providing and leading Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QAQC) reviews.
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record and flexibility to travel as needed (up to 10%) for team meetings, client consultations, site inspections/visits, construction management duties, etc.; Occasional overnight travel will be required.
• Professional registration in additional states.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or Plant 3D.
• Previous experience with the creation of air balance diagrams, process flow diagrams, piping and instrument diagrams, equipment general arrangement drawings and piping / HVAC plan drawings.
